Students of Mountain Gate Academy have access to additional resources for their training. To access this content, you’ll need to signup and then logon to the website.

We currently have a subscriber membership available for $80 a year which includes access to step by step videos, articles and eBooks for forms and additional instructional material for meditation, self defence and pliability. You can cancel your yearly subscription at any time.

In the near future we will have a student membership available which will include interactive training and support with a teacher using video and other online communications, a personalised training programme, gradings and access to online courses.

A little later in the year we will also start hosting short online courses in self defence, pliability, meditation, martial arts, martial history and philosophy that anyone can register for and take, with a skilled teacher following your progress in the course and assisting you in your study.

What if I’m not a member yet?

There are several ways you can get started with Mountain Gate Academy:

  • Browse - Firstly, we are creating a full public record of our style and its practice, including the most comprehensive publicly available record of classical Shan Men Shaolin Gong Fu. You can browse through our curriculum which links to information and videos of all the major forms, or look through the martial, scholarly and health reference articles and videos our content continues to grow. We do however strongly recommend you get in touch with the school if you intend to train as the functions and forms are quite demanding and can cause injury if embarked upon with no guidance or experience.
  • Subscribe - If you want to be kept up to date with the school and website, we recommend that you subscribe by email or RSS to see all the latest news as it is published.
  • Register - For slightly more committed students, you can sign up for a small yearly membership fee to get access to more detailed instructional videos, grading information and students forums to interact with teachers and other students. In addition you also get discounts on published training materials, workshops and equipment.
  • Join the Shan Men school - Finally, if you want to join the school formally, you can get in touch with our head teacher, Shifu Jason Parks, who will discuss with you your options as either a distance learning or in class student. This level of training involves regular training sessions and personal engagement with our teachers to help you on your path.
